If the outside temperature is lower that 3 degrees, the air con is on, battery low the start/stop will not function. its probably because the outside temperature hasnt got above -1 for about a month, hence why its not happening.. 246 posts · Joined 2016. #3 · Jul 13, 2016. This may or may not help but on my last Mini, a Countryman SD, I had start/stop failure. When I took it to a dealer they said it was due to some vacuum pipe or switch on the engine. I realise that my car was the previous generation of engine and you may have a petrol car but it may be something.

There is usually a toggle switch for switching on / off. Non functioning stop/start is often a sign that the battery is coming to the end of its life, as the battery holds less charge the car disables the stop/start.
